DIFFERENTLY ABLED

DIFFERENTLY ABLED

Differently Abled Cricket Club’s main objectives are to develop the cricket skills of all LSEN (Learners with Special Educational Needs) which include the Blind, Deaf, Intellectually Impaired, Mildly handicapped and Physically Disabled. The secondary objectives are to develop the skills of all players on a personal level to enable them to be employable in the industry. The main industry targeted for the skills development is the ICT market (Information and Communication Technologies).

We are also in the process of having access to Educational Hubs in the Tshwane area, where all our Feeder Schools will have access to the best technology available today. These hubs will play a crucial role in the skills development of our players outside their normal school activities.
Future plans include the building and establishment of a Cricket Academy specifically aimed at disabled players where they can enhance their cricket skills and become part of mentor programs.

A milestone for Differently Abled Cricket is the inclusion of the Blind Team in the Northerns Club Cricket League of 2017/2018 to participate in official league matches. Truly a major transformation achievement for all specifically for the players.

Physically Disabled development will be lifted as they are not yet as fully established as the Deaf, Blind and Intellectually Impaired within NCU. Some initiatives such as Table Cricket has been introduced with great success amongst the Physically Disabled with other initiatives to follow suit soon.
